Dogs

We have a number of good dogs which range from pups in-training to old hands. Old Hank is a seven year old yellow lab that has had many birds killed over him. When we need a duck dog, quail dog, pheasant dog, or even chucker dog we rely on old Hank. Hank was trained by our youngest son Cord, who was 12 at the time. Hank is the house pet and slept in Cord’s bed for the first year. I suggested the dog be moved outside but it seemed like it was coming down to me or the dog, so I built Hank a bed and he is still at the foot of Cord’s bed and I still have a place to stay.

This is Darr an 8 year old pointer and Maggie a 5 year old setter.Darr will usually be the first on point but just does not like to retreive. It does not matter to Maggie she will point, back, and retreive. They are a great set of dogs to hunt behind.

Well this is Huckleberry, a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrior that points, flushes, retreives, dances, and walks on his back feet. Huckleberry just happened to be in on a dog trade I made site unseen. He has turned out to be quit an addition to our family and resort. His bed is on his back between Kathryn and I. Cord our son started carring Huck along with him when he was guiding and he just started picking up on every thing the other dogs were doing.

Molly and Chance are Brittney liter mates. At 30 months of age, both dogs are working well. Molly is usually the first on point and Chance is usually the first to make the retrieve. You will enjoy hunting behind both dogs
